Most of what's confirmed for 2026 crowds onto two weekends. The first is this one coming up, Oct. 16 through 18. The second is the first weekend of December. The weeks in between are mostly quiet, with one large evening at The Promenade at Westlake.
That means you can plan the season around two weekends. Here's how each one stacks up, what's confirmed, and the one Westlake tradition that hasn't posted a 2026 date yet.
The calendar as it stands on Oct. 12
These dates come straight from organizers and the city, as of today:
- Fri.–Sun., Oct. 16–18: Oktoberfest at Westlake Village Inn
- Sat., Oct. 17: The city's biannual shred event at City Hall, plus the Walk to End Alzheimer's at The Promenade at Westlake
- Sat., Oct. 24: Casa Pacifica's Angels Spotlight On Style fashion show at Four Seasons Westlake Village
- Fri., Nov. 20: Tree Lighting at The Promenade at Westlake
- Sat.–Sun., Dec. 5–6: Holidays in the Village, a European Marketplace, at The Oaks in Thousand Oaks
- Sun., Dec. 6: The City of Westlake Village Holiday Sing-Along at 30770 Russell Ranch Road
- Every Sunday: Westlake Village Certified Farmers Market, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The city's own City Celebration was Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Civic Center on Oak Crest Drive, so it's already behind us.
On that list, items 1 and 2 share a weekend, and items 5 and 6 share a Sunday. The parade covered further down may land in that same December stretch.
Pileup one: Oktoberfest weekend, Oct. 16–18
Westlake Village Inn's Oktoberfest opens Friday, Oct. 16, at 4 p.m., with live music from 5 to 10 p.m. that night. It runs through Saturday and Sunday.
The Inn's menu goes well past bratwurst and a pretzel. It lists Hendl, which are whole chickens slow-roasted on a spit, and Bavarian Weißwürste, steamed white veal sausages served with sweet mustard. There's also sauerkraut, apple strudel and soft pretzels flown in from Germany. The beer list includes German labels such as Hofbräu, there are live oompah bands, and the Inn bills it as a family event.
Saturday is the crowded day, because two other things are scheduled that morning:
- The biannual shred event runs 9 a.m. to noon at City Hall. If you've been saving a box of old tax files and statements, this is the morning for it.
- The Walk to End Alzheimer's meets at The Promenade at Westlake, 140 Promenade Way. Registration opens at 9 a.m., the program starts at 10, and the walk begins at 10:30.
So by early afternoon on Saturday, you could have done the shred run, finished the walk, and still reached the Inn with the whole Oktoberfest afternoon ahead of you. If you only want the Bavarian food and the bands, Friday evening and Sunday are the two windows without a shred run or a charity walk on the schedule. On Sunday, the only other fixed event is the farmers market.
The next Saturday, Oct. 24, has one event of its own. Casa Pacifica's Angels Spotlight On Style fashion show is at Four Seasons Westlake Village, with the reception and shopping starting at 10 a.m.
The one big night in between: Nov. 20 at The Promenade
After the October rush, the calendar thins out until a single Friday evening. The Tree Lighting at The Promenade at Westlake is on Nov. 20, according to a Conejo Valley event listing posted this October. The listing describes a curated holiday market for early arrivals, strolling entertainment and kids' activities, specials from shops and restaurants at the center, live performances, and Santa's arrival. The evening ends with the tree lighting and fireworks.
No start time has been posted yet. Since the listing encourages people to come early for the holiday market, it's a good idea to block off the whole evening and confirm the timing with The Promenade closer to the date.
This is also the second time this fall that The Promenade is the meeting point. Walkers gather there on Oct. 17, and families gather there on Nov. 20. Around Westlake Boulevard, a lot of the season's community life happens at a shopping center.
Pileup two: the first weekend of December
This is where the calendar fills up again, and where the one unknown matters most.
Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 5–6: Holidays in the Village, a European Marketplace, takes over The Oaks in Thousand Oaks for both days, with free admission and parking.
Sunday, Dec. 6, 3 to 6 p.m.: The City of Westlake Village has booked its Holiday Sing-Along at 30770 Russell Ranch Road. The city's listing still says "More details coming soon!", so the program hasn't been announced yet. According to What Now Los Angeles, that's the address of The Shoppes at Westlake Village.
Put those together with the farmers market, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Sunday, and Dec. 6 can be a full day: market in the morning, the Thousand Oaks marketplace in the early afternoon, and the Sing-Along on Russell Ranch Road until 6. The market lets out an hour before the Sing-Along starts, so the timing works.
The Westlake tradition without a 2026 date
Of all the events this season, only one happens on Westlake Lake. The Westlake Yacht Club's Boat Parade of Lights hasn't posted a 2026 date as of today.
Here's what last year looked like. The Acorn reported in November 2025 that the parade would run Dec. 7 from the Yacht Club at 32119 Lindero Canyon Road. Decorated boats lined up in front of the club at 4 p.m., judges reviewed entries at the dock at 4:30, and the parade left at 5 p.m. to circle the lake.
The paper described the 2025 event as free and open to the public. Food and drinks were for sale, Santa was there, and a snowy surprise waited along the shoreline. The music came from local students:
"Holiday performances will also help set the mood, including seasonal favorites sung by Westlake High School vocalists and a smooth set from the Viewpoint High School jazz quartet."
According to The Acorn, any boat with a Westlake Lake Management Association permit was welcome to join, and awards and gifts went to the standout entries.
The calendar is what makes the missing date matter. Dec. 7, 2025, was the first Sunday of December. The first Sunday this December is Dec. 6, the same day as the city's Sing-Along and the second day of Holidays in the Village. Nobody has announced that the parade will be on Dec. 6, or on any other day. Still, if the Yacht Club keeps last year's pattern, the first weekend of December would hold the lake, the Russell Ranch Road Sing-Along and the Thousand Oaks marketplace all at once, with the farmers market that morning.
If you want lakeside lights and the Sing-Along in the same season, keep that weekend flexible until the Yacht Club posts its date.
The Sunday that never moves
Under all these one-off dates, one event runs every week regardless. The Westlake Village Certified Farmers Market sets up at Village Glen, 2797 Agoura Road, on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., year-round. California's certified-market register, current as of Oct. 1, 2026, still lists it on that schedule. CCFM, the market's operator, gives the same day, hours and address.
That makes it the fixed point for planning the season. On Oktoberfest Sunday, Oct. 18, you can go to the market in the morning and the Inn in the afternoon. On Dec. 6, you can go to the market in the morning and the Sing-Along at 3. It's on the calendar for Nov. 22, two days after the tree lighting, and for every quiet Sunday in between.
